Amazing how two states that are next to each other can be so different. Even when Kansas wasn’t flat, it was still pretty flat in comparison to roads we had traveled and roads yet to come. The rolling hills of eastern Kansas were still pretty gentle in comparison to the rolling hills of New Mexico. Cross the Missouri River and it’s a whole other ball of wax though - Missouri is pretty hilly! Our ride today took us over many rolling hills, some of which were pretty steep!
Today’s ride also took us through a pretty special SAG stop as well - the DeKalb County Historical Society in Maysville, MO put on quite a spread for us. We entered Maysville as a group procession and were welcomed quite nicely by the people of the town.
Of course, we saw some cool things along the way, both before AND after Maysville:
And, of course, today’s video:
Tomorrow is a shorter ride and another late start (thanks in part to breakfast at the hotel not starting tomorrow until 7am), but another climbing day as we head into Kirksville, MO. Since the time is getting late, it is time for me to head to bed - see you tomorrow!
